Replica bomb body and fins are built from light weight composite materials. All threads are identical and interchangeable with the genuine article. Composite parts are coated with a marine grade gelcoat which is more durable then paint. The gel coat used is UV stabilized and can handle prolonged exposure to harsh weather and from people poking and prodding.

The M117 was used in the Vietnam war. it contains 2 screw in MS3314 suspension lugs spaced at 14”. The M117 tail fins are removable and can be fitted with replica or real tail fins.

Paint it yourself, save money, buy the kit. A diagram and stenciling is provided. Paint not included.

Fun Facts:
Unlike the World War 2 bombs, Vietnam era bombs have a slender low drag body with a long pointed nose and streamline fins.
Approximately half of the total bomb weight is explosive charge.
The bomb is painted Olive Drab. Identification data is stenciled in yellow letters in at least 2 places adjacent to a yellow band. Identifying nomenclature on older bombs are stenciled in black and nomenclature is stamped into the bomb body.
The 750 lb. demolition bomb M117 is designed for a higher blast effect than a general purpose bomb of comparable weight.
